Training for Explosive Device Risk Education (EREE) project managers
GICHD Francophone Regional Cooperation Program (FRCP).
This regional training on EERE is aimed at EERE professionals working in French-speaking African countries. It aims to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of EERE project managers in the design and implementation of effective and efficient EERE interventions, in accordance with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) and best practices.
The training will focus on the acquisition and practical application of key skills essential for EERE project managers and will be anchored in the specific challenges faced by participants in their region.
The training is organized by the GICHD's EERE and Francophone Regional Cooperation programs, in close collaboration with the Center for Advanced Training in Post-Conflict Mine and Clearance Actions (CPADD).

Development of EREE programs, including the development of a Theory of Change (TOC).
Introduction to the Social Behavior Change (SBCC) approach.

EERE Project Cycle (Planning, Prioritization, Design, Implementation, and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)).

What will you learn?
This training will strengthen participants' ability to:
- Describe relevant normative frameworks and fundamental principles of EERE.
- Explain the links between EERE and global agendas.
- Understand mine action governance (architecture, strategy, standards, and standard operating procedures).
- Apply good practices in quality and information management in EERE program development.
- Use methodologies for contextual analysis and needs assessment.
- Apply risk assessment tools.
- Advocate for resource mobilization for EERE.
- Strengthen their project management capacities.
- Design EERE interventions using a CCS approach.
- Apply good practices for the coordination and integration of EERE interventions. Explain the basics of MEAL and apply them to the Theory of Change.
Who should attend?
Participant Selection Criteria
The target audience is French-speaking EREE managers (or similar positions). Candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:
Relevant professional experience: Candidates must have practical experience in EREE program/project management and/or EREE team management. Additional experience in the humanitarian and mine action sectors will also be considered.
Professional affiliation: Work within an organization involved in EREE, particularly national authorities and local organizations.
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and team leadership skills.
Language proficiency: Good command of spoken and written French to actively participate in the sessions.
Geographic relevance: Priority will be given to candidates who work in the region concerned and who have direct responsibilities related to it. Knowledge Transfer: Ability to transfer acquired skills to their professional context.
Recommendations (required): Letter of recommendation and/or support from supervisors or relevant stakeholders to validate the candidate's suitability for the training.
Future Commitment: Willingness to participate in follow-up sessions and a Training of Trainers (ToT) program planned for 2026. Upon successful completion of this initial training, a select number of participants, chosen based on their interest, performance, and active participation, will be invited to participate in a Training of Trainers program.
