Coordination: The World Health Organization (WHO) is represented in the different coordination mechanisms established by UNMAS, governments, donors and other partners at the global level and national levels, such as the MACCs, the IACG-MA and SCMA. 

Programme management and project implementation: The World Health Organization is responsible for the development of appropriate standards and methodologies, as well as the promotion of health service capacity building for sustainable victim assistance, through the Ministries of Health of affected countries. It provides public technical health support to the various United Nations partners involved in mine action, and cooperates closely with UNICEF and ICRC.
