The role of the Office of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women (OSAGI).
Coordination:The Department of Economic and Social Affairs/ Office of the Special Adviser to theSecretary-General on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women (OSAGI) is represented in the different coordination mechanisms established by UNMAS, governments, donors and other partners at the global level, such as the IACG-MA and SCMA.
Advocacy and information: The OSAGI develops new strategies and programmes to advance gender equality and the empowerment of women in all sectors, including mine action. OSAGI's role is primarily in the areas of advocacy and policy support for gender mainstreaming in all of the United Nations’ work.
